In less than an hour from Magpie Cottages, you could be in the midst of the Peak District National Park. It is Britain’s oldest National Park, created in 1951, with exceptional scenic views and plenty of things to do. The Magpie Cottages are in the unique position of being close to Manchester city centre as well as places like Buxton, Edale, and Castleton. It is possible by bus and train as well as by car. Marple is a lovely corner of North East Cheshire. It is in a semi-rural setting which is handy for Stockport, Manchester, and the Peak District.
